Virtual Reiki

Same session. Same energy. Your own bed.

Virtual Reiki isn't a watered-down version of the real thing. It's the same work, delivered to wherever you are — and for a lot of my clients, it's become the version they prefer.

You don't have to drive anywhere. You don't have to be presentable. You can cry without a stranger's bathroom mirror waiting for you afterwards, and when the session ends you're already home.

We meet live, on Google Meet

Here's the part people don't expect.

Your virtual session isn't a recording, and it isn't me quietly working on you from across the city while you lie at home wondering whether anything is happening. We're on a live Google Meet call together, for the whole session.

You'll get a link before your appointment. We start face to face, exactly like we would in person — I'll ask how you've been, what's been sitting heavy, what you'd like to put down. Then you settle, and I begin.

You don't need to stay on camera if you'd rather not. Plenty of people turn their video off once we begin and just let my voice be there. What matters is that we're connected in real time, so I can talk you into the settling, guide your breathing if you drift, notice when something shifts, and be right there when you open your eyes.

At the end we come back to each other and talk about what came up. That conversation is part of the session, not an add-on.

How a virtual session actually runs

Before we start. You'll get your Google Meet link and arrival instructions by email once your booking is confirmed. Set yourself up somewhere you can lie down undisturbed — bed, sofa, floor with a blanket, whatever's comfortable. Phone on Do Not Disturb.

The first few minutes. We talk. How you're doing, what's going on in your body, anything you want the session to hold. If it's your first time, I'll explain exactly what I'm about to do so nothing is a surprise.

Settling in. You lie down and get comfortable. I'll guide you through a few breaths to help your system downshift. Nothing to do, nothing to perform.

The session itself. This is the quiet part. You rest; I work. Some people stay awake and aware the whole time, some drift in and out, some fall fully asleep — all of it is fine, and none of it stops the energy from landing.

Coming back. I'll bring you back gently rather than snapping you out of it. Then we talk about what you noticed and what I noticed, and I'll give you anything that would help you integrate it over the next few days.

But how does Reiki work through a screen?

The honest answer, and the one I'd want if I were you.

In Reiki, energy isn't understood as something that travels through the air between my hands and your shoulder like heat off a radiator. It's treated as something that isn't bound by physical distance in the first place — which is why distance work has been part of the practice since the beginning, not a modern workaround invented for video calls.

Practitioners trained to the second level are attuned to work at a distance specifically. The traditional teaching is that intention and connection are what matter, and that space and time aren't the barriers we assume they are. I connect with your energy field, I work through the same layers I would with my hands hovering over you, and the session unfolds the same way.

What I won't do is hand you a physics paper. Reiki hasn't been proven in a laboratory, and I'd be suspicious of anyone who told you otherwise. What I can tell you is what a century of practitioners have observed, and what my own clients consistently report: the warmth, the tingling, the heaviness lifting off the chest, the emotional release, the deep sleep that night. People who have had both in-person and virtual sessions with me routinely can't tell the difference from the inside.

You're welcome to be skeptical. Skepticism doesn't block anything — you don't have to believe in it for it to land, and some of my most affected clients arrived certain that nothing would happen.

Why some people actually prefer it

Your nervous system is already home. Half the work of an in-person session is getting you to drop your guard in an unfamiliar room. At home, you're already there.

No coming down in traffic. In person, you get off the table soft and open and then have to drive or take the TTC. Virtually, the session ends and you're already where you need to be. You can stay lying down for another twenty minutes. Most people do.

Nothing to negotiate about touch. There's no hands-on question at all, which for some people — trauma survivors, anyone touch-averse, anyone who just doesn't want to think about it — removes the last piece of hesitation.

It's available when your life isn't flexible. New parents during nap time. Chronic illness and pain days. Shift workers. Anyone whose energy for leaving the house is the exact thing they're trying to rebuild.

Distance genuinely doesn't matter. I work with clients well outside Toronto. If you've moved, if you travel, if you found me from another country entirely — it's the same session.

What you'll need

  • A quiet, private space where you can lie down for the full session
  • A stable internet connection
  • Your phone or laptop propped where I can see you at the start — you don't need to hold it
  • A blanket, and a pillow under your knees if that's comfortable
  • Do Not Disturb on, and a heads-up to anyone you live with
  • Headphones, if they help you settle

That's it. No candles, no crystals, no preparation.

Is it as good as in person?

I get asked this constantly, so here's my real answer: for the great majority of people, yes — and a meaningful number find it better, for the reasons above.

The one thing in-person offers that virtual can't is physical presence: the light touch if you want it, the shared room, the sense of someone physically holding the space. If that's the part you're craving, come see me in Toronto. If what you need is deep rest and an energetic reset without leaving your house, virtual will serve you completely.

If you're genuinely unsure, book a free consultation call and we'll figure out together which one suits you.

Ready when you are

Sessions are available worldwide — if you've got a quiet room and a wifi signal, we can work together. It's worth reading how to prepare before your first one.
